The Pool
Our lane pool is perfect for both fitness and family fun. Measuring 2.4m by 12.8m, the pool accommodates two lane swimmers side-by-side and offers a depth ranging from 0.9m to 1.4m, making it suitable for both casual swimmers and serious fitness enthusiasts. Parents will also find it ideal for teaching their little ones to swim.
- Temperature: The pool is maintained at a comfortable 29°C, slightly warmer than city pools, ensuring it’s inviting for children while still cool enough for vigorous swimmers.
- Pool Treatment: The water is treated by a chlorination system.
- Features: The pool area is fully tiled, with high ceilings and ample lighting. A west-facing window allows natural light to brighten the space during the day.
The Hot Tub

Adjacent to the pool, our hot tub provides a relaxing experience for up to 6 people. With a depth of 1.2m, it is maintained at 39°C for optimal comfort and health benefits. Please note that exposure should not exceed 20 minutes at a time.

The Sauna
Our co-ed sauna, located in a private alcove within the pool room, offers a traditional cedar-lined experience. It features lava-rock heat that can be activated from the poolside and reaches an ideal temperature by the time you finish swimming.
- Facilities: A shower stall with soap and shampoo is provided in the sauna area. Swimmers must shower before entering the sauna and again before returning to the pool or hot tub, in compliance with health regulations.
Access & Locker Rooms
- Access to the pool area is available via the lower-level exercise landing, with locker rooms conveniently located nearby.
- A separate entrance allows direct access from the ladies' locker room.
- Both entrances are secured with coded door locks. Please note the poolside door is for emergency exit only.
Rules & Regulations
General Usage
- The pool, hot tub, and sauna are private facilities for UHA members, their guests, and fitness class participants. They are not available for lounge rental use.
- Showering: All users must shower thoroughly before entering the pool, hot tub, or sauna. Showers are available in the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms, as well as in the sauna alcove.
- Footwear: No street shoes are allowed in the pool area.
- Swimwear: Proper swimwear must be worn at all times.
- Supervision: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. It is strongly recommended that no one swims alone as no lifeguard is on duty.
Guest Policy
- Each member may bring up to 2 guests, or 4 guests per membership. Guests must be accompanied by the Uplands homeowner who is responsible for their behavior.
Safety & Supervision
- Rescue equipment, including a rescue tube, rope, pole, and net, is located on the west wall of the pool area.
- A fire extinguisher is positioned near the pool entrance from the fitness area.
- First Aid Kit: Available next to the squash court door.
- Children under 14 must always be supervised by an adult.
- For children under 8, a 1:4 caregiver-to-child ratio is required, or 1:8 if all children are wearing lifejackets.
- Children aged 35 months or younger or individuals who are incontinent must wear protective, water-resistant swimwear.
Health & Safety
- Patrons must shower with soap before using the pool, hot tub, or sauna.
- No food, drinks, or glass containers are allowed in the pool area.
- Running and rough play are prohibited in all areas.
- Small flotation devices and toys are permitted unless other users object.
- No diving headfirst.
- Lockers are available for day use only.
- Individuals with certain health conditions (e.g., heart disease, hypertension, seizures) or pregnant women should consult a physician before using the hot tub or sauna.
- Individuals with diarrhea or a history of diarrhea in the past two weeks should avoid using the pool, hot tub, or sauna.
Prohibited Behaviors
- Intoxicated individuals will not be permitted to use the facilities.
- The use of bubble bath, bath salts, or lotions in the hot tub is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal from the Centre.
