The main floor of the Uplands Recreation Centre offers an inviting lounge, also known as the "Event Room," perfect for hosting social gatherings or business functions. This 1,233-square-foot space features a vaulted ceiling, a stone fireplace, large picture windows with a stained glass accent, and a wrap-around deck offering stunning views of the mountains and city.

​The lounge is furnished with leather couches, chairs, and end tables, which can be easily rearranged to suit your preferred seating arrangements. Ambient lighting is provided by elegant wall sconces and suspended fixtures.
Capacity & Seating:
  • The recommended capacity for the lounge is 70 guests for optimal comfort and space.
  • The maximum occupancy for dining and beverages is set at 90 guests.
  • Leather lounge seating accommodates up to 13 people, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunset over the mountains.
Furniture & Equipment:
  • The lounge includes fifteen 6' x 30" rectangular banquet tables and 90 stacking chairs available for use.
  • AV equipment and dinnerware are available for rental.
Kitchen:
  • Commercial Refrigerator
  • Spacious Kitchen counter and entertaining countertop
Amenities:
  • The wood-burning fireplace adds a cozy touch, though residents must provide their own firewood.
  • The parking lot can accommodate approximately 40 vehicles.

Can I come See the Event Room?
Absolutely! Email us at [email protected] or call us at 403-241-1975 to arrange a viewing. 
Who takes care of setup, takedown, and cleaning?
You can either do it yourselves or you can have us do it. If you do it yourself, we will show you where everything is and how to put it all back. If you would like us to do it, it is a $50-$75/hr charge.  charge.
Can I Serve Liquor?
Yes, but a valid liquor license must be obtained and posted on the supplied cork board in the kitchen on the day of your function.
do You have a Screen and Sound System?
Yes, we have a 80" x 45" ceiling mounted screen and projector in the Event Room. The screen and projector are included in your rental price. 
do we have to be members and/or residents of the UHA to rent your facility?
The Event Room is available to rent to both members and non-members. ​

When is Payment due?
Rental fees are due upon receipt of the contract to confirm your booking
The Uplands reserves the right to cancel reservations if the rental fee invoice is unpaid. ​
what is the cancellation policy?
There will be a $200.00 cancellation fee if, for whatever reason, the Rentee does not provide two weeks (14 days) notice of cancellation.
