Facility Usage Rules
General Facility Use Hours of Operation 6 AM – 9 PM daily
Facility Manager Hours 9 AM—3 PM Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
Evening Staff Hours 7 PM – 10 PM daily
General Rules
Uplands Recreation Centre is a non smoking facility
Anyone using the center does so at their own risk
Members and their guests are expected to treat the facility as they would their own home.
Pool, Hot Tub and Sauna Policies
Pool Safety and Supervision
- Number of guests are limited to two (2) people per member or four (4) guests per membership
- The Uplands Homeowner, who will in turn be responsible for the behaviour of their guests, must accompany guests brought to the Recreation Centre.
- The member, the member’s family or their guests shall hold a member responsible, financially and otherwise, for any damages caused to the Centre.
- Any deliberate destruction of the recreation Centre and or its property will result in automatic expulsion from the Centre.
- Food and beverages not permitted in the pool area
- The Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen articles
- Persons entering the Recreation Centre must wear proper footwear with non-marking soles and top shirt as part of apparel
- All juveniles under 14 years of age are to have direct and constant supervision while in the recreation Centre
- Absolutely no children under the age of 14 are allowed in the pool unless accompanied by an adult member
- The caregiver to child ratio is 1 caregiver for every 4 children under the age of 8. If all children under the age of 8 are wearing lifejackets then a ration of 1 caregiver for every 8 children can be used.
Rescue Equipment Provided
- Rescue Tube and rope - Located on West wall of pool area
- Rescue Pole and net - Located on West wall of pool area
- Fire Extinguisher - Located on wall prior to entry of pool from fitness area
- First Aid Kit - Located next to Squash Court door

Rules for Pool, Hot Tub and Sauna usage
- Bathers must take shower using soap prior to entering the pool/hot tub/sauna
- Patrons must wash their hands with soap after using the washroom or changing diapers
- Bathing suits are required in the pool area
- Running, pushing, rough play are not permitted in the pool area or in any other areas of the recreation centre
- Street shoes must not be worn in wet traffic areas
- Food, gum or drinks are not allowed in the pool area
- Glass is not allowed on the pool deck or in other barefoot areas
- Patrons who are intoxicated will not be allowed to use the facilities
- Small flotation devices and toys are permitted in the pool unless other users object
- No Diving head first
- Lockers are on a day basis only
- The use of bubble bath, bath salts, lotions, etc., in the hot tub calls for dismissal from the centre
- Absolutely no children under the age of 14 are allowed in the pool, hot tub and sauna unless accompanied by an adult member
- Children 35 months and under or individuals who are incontinent must wear protective, water resistant swim wear
- those patrons with diarrhea or a history of diarrhea over the previous two weeks who should not use the public swimming pool
Those Patrons should consult with a physician prior to using the Hot Tub, dry sauna
- pregnant women
- individuals with medical conditions including but not limited to heart disease, hypertension, seizures, diabetes or obesity
- individuals greater than 65 years of age
- individuals with a medical condition requiring the ongoing care of a physician
- those patrons with diarrhea or a history of diarrhea over the previous two weeks who should not use the public hot tub pool
SQUASH AND TENNIS COURTS
- Appropriate gym clothing and non marking indoor shoes must be worn
