The Community Centre features a meeting/social gathering space. Depending on the type of event the space will handle from 70 to 90 people for both business and personal use. Liquor permits may be obtained and outside catering is available. The room features a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a balcony with a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains that makes for a wonderful social gathering location.
On the lower level of the community centre activity areas include a squash court, a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub as well as some workout equipment. See amenities tab for pictures.
Outside the centre are two tennis courts for the use of tennis and a multipurpose court for people to play basketball, pickleball or other court sports.
The Uplands has an RV storage lot of recreation vehicles which is extremely popular with residents to park their vehicles close to their homes at a reasonable rental rate.

In addition to the use of facilities the Uplands Homeowners' Association maintains the landscaping in the common areas of the community. This role of the association keeps the community pathways clear of snow in the winter and the grass cut in the summer. Pots of colourful flowers on the medians around the community are planted and maintained by the association. The association is also responsible for the trees and several shrub beds in the common areas. The Uplands Homeowners' Association is justly proud of the park like environment of the area and many people use the walking path that surrounds the community. Many residents feel the landscaping of the common areas add a great deal to the value of their property. The Uplands is the recipient of the 2010 LANTA Landscaping Award.
The Uplands Homeowners' Association also manages the Architectural and Development Guideline controls that govern the area and are constantly reviewing the policy with an eye to updating materials that may be utilized while maintaining the high standards of the community.

These include a Stampede Breakfast, Kid's Halloween Party, Santa Breakfast,and a number Potluck dinners throughout the year. An email newsletter is sent to all of the members to keep them informed about community events and issues.

Day to day issues are handled by a Facility Manager who is responsible for business matters and supervising the part-time staff that operate the facility. The volunteer Board has been very effective in running the association and have managed to build a reserve fund of approximately $360,000.
